India Post Office GDS requirement notification
India Post Office has released 21,413 GDS posts for different branches of different states. Which includes posts for BPM (Branch Post Master), ABPM (Assistant Branch Post Master), and Postal Servant.

India Post Office GDS, Vacancy details
India Post Office has released vacancies for more than 21000 GDS posts, including BPM, ABPM, and Dak Sevak. 10th qualified students from all over India can apply for this. Many students are going to apply for recruitment in post offices of many states from the 23rd circle of India.
But before applying, it is very important to know how many vacancies there are and in which state. So that you can know about your chances of getting selected.

India Post Office GDS Important dates
As we have already told you, the application for GDS has already started. You can apply yourself by visiting its official website or you can also apply by going to the nearest cyber hub. The notification of GDS was released on 7th Feb 2025.
While the application has started from 10th Feb 2025. And you can apply till 3rd March 2025. If you have made some mistake while applying or you have some doubts, then the correction window will open from 6th March to 8th March, then you can make whatever changes or corrections you want.
India Post Office GDS 2025 Educational Qualification
To apply for GDS, your minimum qualification should be 10th. You need to qualify 10th with passing marks in English and mathematics.
You must have completed 10th from a board recognized by the Indian government, any state government, or union territory government. Apart from this, you should know the local language of your state well. Apart from all this, you need to have computer knowledge and knowledge about cycling.
India Post Office GDS 2025 Age limit
To apply for GDS, you must know the age limit. Candidates of what age can apply for it, how much age relaxation is there according to the category, you should know all this.
The minimum age to apply for GDS is 18 years and the maximum age is 40. This means that candidates below 18 years and above 40 years cannot apply for it. The age relaxation is given according to the category in the table below.

GDS Application fees
To apply for GDS, you need to pay some fees. You can pay through online payment methods like credit cards, debit cards, and UPI. Before making the payment, you must confirm once whether you are eligible to apply or not, because after making the payment there is no refund.
Candidates need to note down their registration number properly so that no mistake can be made while paying the fee.
There is no application fee for female, SC, ST, PWD, or transwomen candidates applying for this, all of them can apply for free. Apart from all these, other candidates need to pay Rs 100 to apply.

India Post Office GDS Apply Process
You can apply for GDS easily by following some easy steps given below.
Step 1. To apply for GDS, first of all, you need to go to the official website of India Post and register. Or you can register from the link given below.
Before registering, you have to keep your mobile number, email address, and Aadhar number ready.
Step 2. On the registration page, after filling up your name, mobile number, parent name, DOB, and gender, click on the submit button.
Step 3. After that fill up the application form by giving personal details, contact details, and educational details.
Step 4. Then after uploading the required documents like photographs, signature, and educational certificates in jpg/jpeg format, pay the fee.
Now your application is complete. Save and download the confirmation page because you might need it in the future.
GDS Selection Process
In GDS, selection is done based on merit, which depends on 10th marks. Based on the division and its vacancy, candidates scoring high in 10th are selected according to the grade. Gradation is explained in the table below.
